The island has many Western---style hotels with excellent dive boats and local divemasters.

Crystal Palace (limestone caves) Rottnest Island.

   Australia
Rottnest Island is 45 minute boat ride west of Perth, Western Australia. The island is a popular tourist resort and caters for a large number of fishing/diving boats anchoring in the protected waters that surround the island. A family of Grey Nurse sharks inhabit the 'West End' of Rottnest making the area popular with tourist divers. Rowley Shoals, 180 miles off the coast from the township of Broome

   Australia
Rowley Shoals is a cluster of three coral cays each approx.300metres in diameter that offers safe anchorage for charter vessels after the extended overnight voyage from the historic pearling township of Broome. Sea conditions are favorable only between the months October to November due to monsoonal storms that sweep in from Indonesia. Diving is pristine and worth the long voyage out to the Shoals. Because of the remote location diving is restricted to depths not exceeding 30meters.

Wreck of Sanko Harvest.

   Australia
A difficult site to reach being approximately 30 miles off the coast of Esperance. The wreck/reef is exposed to southern ocean squalls making navigation and surface conditions hazardous for dive boats. An experienced skipper is available at Esperance Fishing and Diving Charters. Weather conditions must be favorable for a dive charter operation.

Elephant Head Rock, Similan Islands

   Thailand  Andaman Sea
Immense, stacked granite boulder pinnacle breaking the surface. Scattered smaller granite boulders around the main pinnacle. With a longer interesting swim through. Deeper on eastern side.

Surface rocks look like a bathing elephant when approached from the west, hence the name.

Currents can be strong here, larger pelagics can be seen like occasional White tips and Mantas. Good for macro as well, but the stuff is deeper and it can be tricky with the currents and swell.
