Answer The diving in Baa Atoll is fantastic for the Maldives i think, however there are not many sharks up here, a lot have been fished out. I work here as an underwater videographer, and also work at another resort in North Male Atoll - but the diving there is rubbish in comparison.

At this time of year, June-October, it's manta soup up here!! The best place in Maldives for this is a place called Hanifaru in Baa Atoll, just last week there were 120+ mantas all in this one little spot, along with a whale shark! smile

Ari Atoll has the best dive sites in Maldives - like the famous Fish Head, Maya Thila, Pannetone, plus loads more.
In Baa atoll, the best dive sites i think have to be Muthafishi Thila, Dhigali Haa, Dhigu Thila, Dharavandhoo Thila, Nelivaru, Dhonfan Thila, Milaidhoo Caves.

December-May is high season, weather's good, calm seas, good visibility - sometimes 40m!
June-October is low season, weather is unpredictable, rougher seas and worse viz, but there's fish galore!
