Can you tell me when you photographed this? The reason I ask, is that there were hundreds of them washing into our canals the first week of February...and your image says that you shot this in Spain. We had these in Lake Worth Florida, which is the closest point to the Gulfstream current. Please share with me, what you know about this jellyfish. There were recently 3 different types of jellyfish washing up on our shores; the Man-of War, this one, and another one that I have yet to name.. Thank you... and beautiful shot by the way. I will try natural light next time, Suzan | Niteflightphoto 10210 point member

Hi Suzan, thanks for your message. This photo was taken just some days ago. Here in the Mediterranean, specialy Balearic sea ( north coast from the Island Menorca ), there sometimes thousands together ( a real jelly bloom ). Depends of wind direccion. Mostly they come in spring and summer time ( they like warm water ). In a temperature of less than 13º C they will not survive. Last year there where more than 12.000 accidents with Pelagia noctiluca registrated, only in spain. But some days this type of jelly come not alone. Together with ctenophore and bigger jelly like Aequorea forskalea. Than i feel like in paradise, but only when I use a dive suit. Best regards from Menorca, Roland | Roland Bach 5610 point member

| Niteflightphoto 10210 point member
