message this message is important Dear Keith,

thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest smile

You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works :
I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones
( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers untill
you see the note "photo critic completed" - thanks smile

As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a "thank you" is always appreciated
( no "thanks" = no more critiques ).

Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with
an analytic review & to suggest solutions.
The objective is to see you here as winner one day smile

And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) !

First impression
Nice natural frame.

Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 )
Exposure : 3, Colours: 3, Sharpness: 2, DOF ( depht of field ) : 3, Contrast : 3

Suggestions :
Bring the sharpness to your subjects (especially on the eyes) and not to the rock.

Composition :
Funny situation, but to much space arround this couple of soapfish. But to shoot a fish in profile is always a bit boring.

Suggestions :
With frame size 3:2 you give less space arround this “black hole”.

message  Subject :
A soapfish has no color ( just grey ). In this distance you shoot will be never a “hot shot”. To much orange color (rock) disturb the concentration to your subjects.

Suggestions :
Go closer. Than we can see the structure of the grey skin and I have to write again... ...bring the sharpness point to the eyes. This makes your photo interesting.

Epilogue :
Hope, this critique helps you in your next underwater shooting. ;-) Looking forward to see your next submit here at UWP.

All the best,

Roland

It does not go to be picnic ( ?) So , all taste are in the nature , and without to offend you Roland , I find this scattered notes apricot having generously recieved the sun of the time , favor the frightened appearance of this freezed fishes by the flash and favor the grey blue of their skin !I find this opposition of colors favorably interactive and likeable .( Not my fault if this is written " little negro " (french expression : en petit nègre )
This photo is rare and it is suits me !
