message  DearMike,
Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest smile

You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works :
I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks smile

As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ).

Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day smile

And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) !

First impression
Nice shot, nice wrasse...if it just could be a little bit sharper.....

Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 )
Exposure : 4, Colours: 3, Sparpness: 2, DOF ( depht of field ) : 3, Contrast : 3

Suggestions :
Well...a photo needs to be sharp. Please check settings and look twice before you upload a photo...especially to an u/w photography contest like this one ;-)

I liked this composition since this sponge (?) on the top gives the pic a small kick.

Suggestions :
A bit more space to swim ( especially at the bottom of the frame ) would be better. And : If you already signed your photo, you do not need the "tick my name to" function during upload. This only disturbs the visual impression.

message  Subject
Wrasses are fast swimmers and therefore difficult to shoot. But they are also beautiful and interesting marine lifeforms and therefore nice subjects for an u/w photographer and his audiance ;-)

Suggestions :
....if it just could be a bit sharper WTF Please always double check the sharpness. Pics that are not sharp should not be sended to any contest.....unless the "blurryness" came out of your creative mind and was planned like this ;-)

Welcome to the UWP contest ! Happy to have you here smile

All the best,
