Dear Yildirim, Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest Firstly : My deepest apologize for beeing late with my critique. I am just back from a long season of diving & u/w photography ;-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works : I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ). Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) ! | Rico Besserdich 19673 point member

Photo Critique First impression widescreen ???? Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 ) Exposure : 3, Colours: 3, Sparpness: 3, DOF ( depht of field ) : 3, Contrast : 3 Suggestions : You might consider to shoot in RAW mode in future. This would give you better adjustment possibilities in postproduction. Proper tonecurve & öevels adjustment would bring better results for this photo. Composition centered, fins cutted, unusual crop format Suggestions : At the very first I recommend : Do not center your main subject in the frame. A unusual crop can boost results sometimes, but however : this is not working if by cropping parts of the fish ( fins ) are cutted. It also would help to have an neutral background ( blue water ) and for the beginning I suggest not to shoot against the sun. ...just suggestions, of course ;-) | Rico Besserdich 19673 point member

Subject Lionfishes are popular "models", but not as easy to shoot as many people believe. They are slow swimmers, but still fast enough to swim out of your camera's range. But as they are so beautifull it's always worth the time and required patience Great subject ! Suggestions : It helps to study animal behaviours before taking photos. Lionfishes often follow the same pattern....once you know that you would gain much better chances for great shots. The key with the lionfishes is to be very calm...and very patient. Epilogue Welcome to the UWP u/w photo contest - the largest in the world ! Looking forward to your next submissions All the best, Rico website | Rico Besserdich 19673 point member
