Dear Michael, Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works : I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ). Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) ! | Rico Besserdich 19673 point member

Photo Critique First impression Nice anemone but something went wrong with the colours Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 ) Exposure : 4, Colours: 3, Sparpness: 3, DOF ( depht of field ) : 31, Contrast : 3 Suggestions : Generally I have found this photo technically ok. But regarding the colours is has way too much yellow/orange. That make it look artificial. My suggestion is : Use Photoshop wisely ;-) Adding "blacks" is powerfull and can boost photos and so are the curves controls. But always try to remember how the scenery looked in real and always try to achieve vivid and realistic colours. Composition main subject could be placed better..... Suggestions : Your clownfish is not centered ( very good ! ), but I think it could have a bit more space around..especially at the bottom. A different angle of shooting ( more upwards than downwards ) would improve results as well. | Rico Besserdich 19673 point member

Subject The clownfish is the most photographed marine lifeform in the world. And this for good reasons : They are just great subjects Suggestions : Happy to read that you've won the 3rd rank with that one. Generally it's very hard to win a contest with a clownfish photo.....especially THIS contest ( UWP - underwaterphotography.com ). Check out this kind of photos made by others and get some inspiration how to do it different...and better Epilogue Keep on shooting ! Looking forward to your next submission ! All the best, Rico website | Rico Besserdich 19673 point member
