Dear Cláudio, Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works : I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ). Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) ! | Rico Besserdich 19672 point member

Photo Critique First impression "There is much more possible with this kind of uw photo equipment ;-)" Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 ) Exposure : 2, Colours: 3, Sparpness: 2, DOF ( depht of field ) : 2, Contrast : 2 Suggestions : This photo is slightly under-exposured. Always check your settings - a photo like this could be proper exposured when using the "spot" or "middle integral" measuring method of your camera. However, NEVER use the standard "matrix" measuring....it usually fails in underwater photography. Note, that the IKELITE TTL is not working with Sea&Sea strobes. You'll need to set your strobes manually. However, for a shot like this : one strobe is enough ;-) Composition cutted, centered, wrong angle Suggestions : Don't cut of parts of your subject. In my opinium, this photo would work better as a vertical frame. Make sure, that eyes are always in focus when shooting fish por... | Rico Besserdich 19672 point member

Subject Cute small buddy.....and the title helped votes as well ;-) Suggestions : You have the eye for subjects. This is almost MOST important...therefore : good job ! Look around, view as many underwater photographs ( especially the winning ones ) as you can....it helps a lot to understand "what works" and after a time to develope your own style Even the most "simple" looking fish has always a photogenic potential....it is all in your hands ;-) For the basics, you might find the u/w photography course as offered here usefull as well : website Epilogue Welcome to the UWP contest !!!! Happy to have you here - Looking forward to your next submissions All the best, Rico website | Rico Besserdich 19672 point member
