Dear Marco, You have requested a review of your photo. It’s my turn to write you critical comments to help you to improve your work with an analytic review. As you know, the objective is to see you here on UWP as a winner one day ! If you want to answer me, please wait until my review has been completed; as photo critics, we do this job as volunteers; a "thank you" is always appreciated As you already know the foreword, I will directly start my review : Photo Critique : First impression : Great subjects with a good potential Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 ) : Exposure : 4, Colours: 5, Sharpness: 3, DOF ( depth of field ) : 4, Contrast : 5 | Raoul Caprez 16756 point member

Suggested Solution : This picture looks nice. I suppose you work on Photoshop : contrast are enhanced, and the black part, down on the left of the frame is surprising. The impression you wanted to give (I mean a spacecraft) gives an unnatural picture. But it’s a question of taste. With your camera, you can have for sure a better sharpness. For that, you need to have a really perfect buoyancy or you can use a small stick (to touch minimum the bottom) to put on your camera. Composition : You are close to your three subjects and you almost fill the frame with them: good with these subjects. The angle of shooting is correct and the black background works in such compositions, but for me not down the frame. | Raoul Caprez 16756 point member

Suggested Solution : Your composition works quite well, you play also on a kind of diagonal which is a good idea. Your angle of shooting is good. It’s good to have a neutral background to isolate your subject, but for me (again) I would have shown where the nudibranch was « sliding » on (nudi are not flying ). It would have been more natural. Subject Great subjects for a winning picture : nice colours, not so common, we can approach them easily and we have time to take a lot of pictures Suggested Solution : You've chosen perfect subjects. Your approach is good, we can see the nice little scenery. It could have been good to better show the nudibranch’s specificities (rhinophores and gills). I hope you have a lot of picture of this riding time to play in the contest (and to share it with us). For sure with a better sharpness and maybe a more naturel composition you would have been shortlisted. | Raoul Caprez 16756 point member

Epilogue I like to say that pictures must tell something, for me they should pass on a message or transmit an emotion. Your picture is original and show us a really nice scenery ! You are not so far to have a winner picture. You’re on the good way ! Keep on the good work. I’m now looking forward to see your next post. All the best and happy bubbles. Raoul (UWP Photo Critic) P.-S. : You don’t really need to add the UWP copyright in that case because you’ve signed already your picture. --------Photo Critique completed-------- | Raoul Caprez 16756 point member
