This sole was so teeny tiny I thought it was a flatworm until I saw it on a screen and saw and eye and organs

message this message is important Dear Phil
Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest smile

You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works :
I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks smile

As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ).

Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day smile

And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) !

message First impression: I saw this image and the first impression is how stunning the image is B/W. The seal seems to be in the sweet part of the picture!

Exposure : 5, Colours: 1, Sparpness: 4, DOF ( depht of field ) : 6, Contrast : 4

Suggestions :
There is not much more you can do with this to make it better when shooting. You captured the subject in the sweet part of the frame!

Composition : perfect!!!!!!

Suggestions :Enhancing the image can be done by adjusting the contrast a bit more on the positive side in Photoshop or in Lightroom. Sharpness can also be adjusted in one of those above mentioned programs. This will really help.

Thanks for sharing this image with the our site and I look forward to seeing more of your shots! Best Regards - Steven

message Hi Steven,
Many thanks for your feedback! Very much appreciated.

I've already boosted the contrast a fair bit in Photoshop but i guess thats what B&W pictures are all about so maybe a little more could be good.

Thanks again!
