| Dear Egil, Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works : I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ). Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) ! | Moussetitik 4086 point member

| | Photo Critique First impression hey there's a diver hiding! Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 ) Exposure : 5, Colours: 5, Sharpness: 4, DOF ( depth of field ) : 5, Contrast : 5 Suggestions : Not much to add here all in all your photo is technically well done, I like the nice even lightening Composition taken upwards part of wreck cut on the left seaweed disturbing on the upper left position of diver, almost not recognizable Suggestions : try to frame the whole wreck with out cutting off edges Considering models : Putting your model as you did, makes a great "souvenir"picture but won't make you win a contest. The model could be positioned in the upper right corner, above the wreck in the distance, even better, holding a torch pointed at the wreck. And : a model should never directly look into the camera | Moussetitik 4086 point member

| | Subject shooting a wreck with a model is a great idea. The model represents the present in a picture painting a subject of the past (IMHO). The trick is to get both "subjects" in harmony in order to make a winning shot Suggestions : The 3P's : Practice, practice, practice One of your subjects doesn't move, so make move the model around the wreck and try out different positions (in the frame & also body position). You can also go further and apply a different lightening to make it look more dramatic. Epilogue You definitely have the skills to create winning shots. I still wonder if you just took this picture as "souvenir" or if you're intention was to create a competition shot? The souvenir picture is great and gets a 6/6 . The competition shot need more fine tuning. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work, Egil. Keep on posting All the best, Mona critique completed | Moussetitik 4086 point member

| | Hello Mona Thanks for the criticism, it was very constructive. I see what the picture is missing when you describe it so well. It was not in my mind to create a winning shot when I took it, more for fun. But I did like it and would like to see how it would manage in a competition. Thank you again Egil | Egil 506 point member
