message this message is important DearJacobo,
Thank for your latest submission to the UWP contest smile

You've requested a critique of your photo. How it works :
I will structure my critique into a few chapters and will list some suggested solutions to problem zones ( if there are any ). My critique will be like 2-3 posts in total, please wait with any answers until you see the note 'photo critic completed' - thanks smile

As we photo critics do this job as volunteers, a 'thank you' is always appreciated (no 'thanks' = no more critiques ).

Photo critiques here at UWP are meant to give a helping hand with an analytic review & to suggest solutions. The objective is to see you here as winner one day smile

And here we go ( critique/review starts with the next post ) !

First impression
Wow that's a cool school in the sunlight grin

Technical ( score from 1-6, best is 6 )
Exposure : 4, Colours: 5, Sparpness: 5, DOF ( depht of field ) : 5, Contrast : 5

Suggestions :
This is great ! Considering that I seldom give a 6 this is very close to perfect! The exposure is just a tick to low. You can change this by changing your settings (not the ISO as 400 should be ok, but S or A) or by taking even more advantage of the sun

Composition
Your main subject is nicely positioned but the dark rock formation in the background attracks the eye

Suggestions :
Try to shot a bit upwards so that the whole school has a blue background. The ocean floor is interesting and should be in the picture, but the school would stand out even better in the blue wink

message  Subject
Schooling fish are amazing subjects. Challenging as well as they move fast. ..and very often run away from us photographers LOL

Suggestions :
You just got these ones in time smile Again you did a job here!!

Epilogue
A great schooling fish picture. I'm a fan. Especially as it was taken with natural light. Love it! Show us more please!

All the best,

Mona rose
