I started diving in Holland in 1965 my logbook number is 326. Initially diving was a hobby and my professional life as a cameraman and director were separate. Gradually they merged and became one. I started working as a professional Underwater Cinematographer on 16 mm film. Over the years my projects have been varied in nature, ranging from a 3D underwater video made in cooperation with Sony Tokyo to interactive footage for an aquarium in Taiwan. I won the Palme d'Or in Antibes for a short comic film shot in the Bonaire and other major prizes. I have served as a judge at various underwater film festivals.
