Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are in MID WATER not touching anything (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)

The Freckled Hawkfish are thick as flies on the reefs. It's an easy beginner's fish for photography, because they pose without complaint. There are several subspecies here or there is much variation in coloration. This one is more red than most.

Anenome fish in Magnificent Anenome at The Eel Garden, Pig Island, Madang, Papua New Guinea. This anenome is nestled in a crevice in the beautiful wall of knobby coral at this site.
