A beautiful aeolid nudibranch crawling over a crinoid. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing, 60 mm + 1.4 teleconverter.
shortlistedShortlisted!
A Limacia clavigera nudibranch sitting on a string of sea lace covered in bryozoans. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing, 60mm, 2x Inon Z-240 strobes.
A really cool-looking anemone housing a single clownfish. It was quite easy to photograph - the anemone was so small, the fish had nowhere to go! Somehow this image gives me a Bollywood-feeling ;-) Nikon D200 in Nexus housing.
Alien... composition of a Gonionemus murbachii and the eyes of a lemon sole, Microstomus kitt. Looks a little eerie :-)

ET phone home. Well done Christian!
The rare Devil fangshell, catpured one night in the deep fjord south of Oslo, Norway... Really a mixture between a seven-rayed scallop (Pseudamussium septemradiatum) and a lemon sole (Microstomus kitt). The teeth - I just made the space between them!
Whip Coral Shrimp photographed at the Farasan Banks in Saudi Arabia. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing.
Alien of the deep... the rarely seen crown jelly, or Periphylla periphylla, captured on a night dive in Lurefjorden, north of Bergen, Norway. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing, 20mm wide angle.
shortlistedShortlisted!
The eye of the Dragonet. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing, 2x Inon Z-240 strobes.
Norway redfish photographed in Kristiansund, Norway with a Nikon D70s in a Nexus housing.
Hermit crab sitting on dead mens fingers soft coral. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing.
Portrait of the squat lobster Munida rugosa, photographed at Romslo, south-east of Bergen, Norway. Nikon D200 in Nexus housing.

Christian could have put the squattie in the center but rightly opted for a 'rule of thirds' composition
Goby on whip coral, taken at farasan Banks, Saudi Arabia.
Flmingo tongue sitting on a coral branch, Bonaire Neth. Antilles. Taken with my Olympus 5050, f8.0, supermacro.
Dead men's fingers leather coral, Oslo Fiord.
Hermit crab with hydroids growing on its shell, taken south of Oslo, Norway with an Olympus 505 in a PT-015 housing and a 50W HLX torch.
Schooling bannerfish taken at Woodhouse Reef, Strait of Tiran in December 2003.
A baby sea star sitting on kelp, taken with my Olympus c5050Zoom on fuly automatic. Taken at the island of Myken, northern Norway summer of 2003.
Whale shark taken at Koh Tao, Thailand, easter 2001. I used my Reefmaster CL with strobe, and got really lucky for once smile
