Copying colors as hexadecimal valuesYou can copy colors as hexadecimal values from files in Photoshop or ImageReady, using the context menu with the eyedropper tool, or using menu commands. In Photoshop, you copy a color as a hexadecimal value while in the main work area (not the Save for Web dialog box). To copy a color as a hexadecimal value using the eyedropper tool:
The selected color is copied to the Clipboard as a the HTML COLOR attribute with the hexadecimal value (COLOR=#XXYYZZ). To paste the color into an HTML file, choose Edit > Paste with the HTML file displayed in your HTML editing application. To copy a color as a hexadecimal value using menu commands:
The foreground color is copied to the Clipboard as the HTML COLOR attribute with the hexadecimal value (COLOR=#XXYYZZ). To paste the color into an HTML file, open a destination application and choose Copy > Paste with the HTML file displayed. To copy a color as a hexadecimal value by dragging (ImageReady): Drag the Foreground Color from the toolbox or a selected color from the Color Table palette or the Swatches palette into the HTML file in the destination application. Note: This feature is not supported by all text and HTML editing applications. |
