We dived from the liveaboard Royal Evolution which we booked through Tony Backhurst in London. It was easier to fly to London and catch the charter flight from there than it was to make it down to Marsa Alam and Port Hurghada on our own. As a bonus, we really enjoyed our stay in London taking in the sights (and the ale). Getting back to diving, the Royal Evolution is first class, except the food was a little disappointing. However, the diving in the southern Red Sea was fantastic and uncrowded--we only saw one other dive boat. The crew made it easy to clear through Customs in Port Sudan. We stayed on board while they handled everything for us. Our diving was mosty done from RIBS and we were divided into groups of 8 or less. The crew was very helpful if anyone needed a hand with the exit.
