The picture of Gobius niger was taken in may during the start of the breeding season. After laying the eggs, the female disapears. The male stays with the aggs till they hatch.

In may the black goby is laying eggs. Then they are much easyer to fotograph. This was a try out fot a Dutch photocontest. The picture was taken in the Grevelingenmeer, a closed sea arm of the Northsea.

Mnemiopsis leidyi, an introduced species from the east. In some years they are very abundant in the Dutch waters. Always nice to spend a dive photographing them.
