I had just a fraction of a second to pull my hands, holding the camera, back into the cage before this cutie was almost in my face. This is one of those moments in which I miss a motor winder in my Nikonos V. Dyer island, Gansbaai, South Africa.

Manta birostris. This manta was caught on film as late afternoon sun poured down from above. A Nikonos V, 15 mm lens, and Fuji Velvia film was used to capture the image.
Murène Léopard / Maldives
The Boy and The Lion. My son James looks down at a lionfish from the pontoon above. Nikon D100, 16mm, SB105s. One of 4 shots as the fish swam past, but the only one where the boy's face wasn't too distorted.
