This shark was swimming towards me very slowly, apparently not willing to stretch a muscle to avoid me, so I descended just a little to let him glide past above me, being a little anxious of how he would react to my flash. Nik V. 15mm

I shot this in the cold waters of Northern California while free diving in open water.
Taken at Dyer Island, South Africa, which is Great White Shark territory. Because of the thousands of seals around, it was difficult getting a shot of just one by itself.

I bet Johannes had one eye over his shoulder taking this!
DOLPHINS at Dolphin Reef, Red Sea. I was snorkling when this group came swimming in my direction just a few metres below me. I had just a few seconds to compose my shot. They were so fast, any attempt to go after them would have been futile.

Underwater shots looking down rarely work. This one shows the exception to the rule. Well done Johannes!
The circus of fishes. El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain. I was impressed by the variety of fishes that I was seeing and this is the result. Olympus C5050.

these 2 bannerfish were perfectly in unison when I caught them with a 60mm lens
I took this image at Stingray City in Grand Cayman using a Nikonos V with a 20 mm lens. There were a dozen or more stingrays who made close approaches to each diver, so getting this close-up shot was very easy!
