A great study in depth of field - and orange. The popular vote has it this month!
Dragon au naturale.
Green eyed monster. (Nectocarcinus sp.)
Being pretty in pink, doesn't always mean you stand out. This pair of Noumea haliclona are about 10mm long and difficult spot on their pink sponge food source.
According to the Aussies, these Filefish are wearing leather jackets.
What's the matter, haven't you seen a whistling cowfish before...... Shaw's Cowfish (Aracana aurita) - male.
It takes keen eyes to spot a Tassled Anglerfish (aka Tangler) and this is one of the easy ones.

I lifted a metal plate and found this octopus looking after her eggs. Carefully put the plate back down, but discovered on subsequent dive 2 days later, some moron had turned the plate over and left it with eggs and octopus exposed to die. :-(
Runner Up - worthy of note but not a medal winner - an equal 4th place if you like! Runner Up 2010

Weedy Seadragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) at Flinders Pier, Victoria. From this angle it looks like it would make a good catapault. ;-)

Great Barrier Reef Diving
I took this photo while diving in the Agincourt Reef, part of the Great Barrier Reef! I had to get within 1 foot of the clown fish and put the camera on macro to get the picture! After a few takes, I finally got Mr. Clown fish to look right at me!!!
This is a picture taken free diving near the pinnacles in Glenelg South Australia.

Devilfish or Western Blue Devil. Photo taken in Esperance, Western Australia (sea = Great Australian Bight)using Coolpix 990, Ikelite housing and Pro II video lite. Maybe not the best fish portrait, but I just love the colours
