Incredible action shot
The Cape Gannet" - A B&W rendition of one of my favourite sardine run images taken off shore of the wild coast, Transkei, Port St. Johns, South Africa. The Cape Gannet is truly an amazing bird and has adapted to its ocean life like no other.

"Serenity"
Oceanic Blacktip cruising quietly past as the sun sets on a beautiful calm ocean - another end to an amazing day out on the ocean with these awesome animals!

"Escape...for now"
This image somehow intrigues me and I keep on going back to it, starring at it. It does not make sense, in terms of "rules"....it breaks most of them, but still draws me in, I find a strange fascination when staring at it........
"In the Eye of the Beholder”
Always been intrigued by the Canon EF 8–15mm on a full frame, but the idea of incorporating a circle into your image with black surrounds and making it work, gets tricky....I think I got this one right!
"Sunset Strip"
It has been a while.......
"The Chase"
Image of a common dolphin hunting down a small bait ball on the annual Sardine Run 2017, or should I say chase....
Runner Up - worthy of note but not a medal winner - an equal 4th place if you like! Runner Up 2017

Anemone hermit crabs have a special relationship with a specific anemone: they find them and persuade them to set up house on their shells, where the anemones protect the hermit with their stinging cells, the hermit provides them with a mobile home.
This harlequin crab has established itself inside the felt-like tube of a burrowing anemone. It gives it the protection of the anemone's stinging tentacles.
"Bark"
Young seals, rather like puppies, test the limits of their territory by rushing for each other (and visiting divers) with mock charges and bubble laden barks

stunning action shot
"Timeless" is an image of Dusky dolphins taken of Cape Point on our way to the deep, it is pretty rare for them to hand around divers so this was an awesome opportunity to jump in and it paid off.

Tropical Yellow Tail (Amber Jack) hunting silversides on the reef! Great to just chill and watch as the methodically mow the little fish down one by one.

Eish, got photo bombed on what could have been one of my best! But hey thats how it goes when working with these predators!
The end of a great day on the ocean and the promise of another day tomorrow.

To witness such a beautiful scene and still be able to create excellent composition and snap the photo at exactly the right moment - that's what UW photography is all about!
