This is a fresh water cenote deep inside of Mexico. Jacques Cousteau once dove this location with many archaeologists and palontologists as they discovered Mayan artifacts here. They have a museum in the park where they display an est. 6000 year old mammoth skull also found at this site. There are 3 cenotes, all volcanicly heated. 33,66, and 99 feet. All circle in shape with ancient petrified trees laying over inside the pools. Water is crystal clear and around 88 degrees year around. Very difficult to get to and remote but worth the adventure. They have a park entrance that you will pay around 100 pesos to get in and you can stay at the local hotel, good food and friendly people. They will offer you plane rides to check out the incredible mountains surrounding this small town, its cheap and worth it. Best to go with a group of people and schedule it ahead of time with the local dive shop. check out my pictures of this site in Rio Verdo, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. "The Media Luna"
