Cruising between swim-throughs along Punta Delila, I paused over a coral head and spied what appeared to be tiny tentacles nestled within a fissure at the bottom of a healthy patch of polyps. It wasn't until later, after reviewing Humann/Deloach's 'The Reef Set' that I identified this specimen as a Branching Anemone. Fairly common ...or so the descripton goes, but I had never noticed these creatures until putting my new 100mm Canon macro lens into use. By retraining my eye to look for small subjects I've found a whole new world of exotics revealed as never before!

Branching anemone using a Canon T1i, Canon 100mm macro lens and Ikelite housing with two Ike DS-160 strobes. Relativley new to macro, I find that my eye has re-tuned toward the glorious beauty of all things small.
