A journalist friend of mine pointed out recently that many of the on-board underwater
photography courses offered on liveaboard dive boats these days are actually more
IT course than underwater photo course.

The people running them allow the divers to go and do their own thing underwater
with very little guidance and seem to believe that their job starts when the images
are downloaded onto a computer on the dive boat. The strategy being ‘well
let’s fix what you have just shot’.

This approach is entirely wrong for one very good reason, the principle of ‘Garbage
In Garbage Out’, occasionally referred to with the acronym GIGO.

It is rather like trying to reverse engineer a pig out of a string of sausages.
You will never transcend your original. If your original is rubbish then your end
result will be a little dressed up rubbish, but it will nevertheless still be rubbish.

So please, please, please do our
Underwater Photography course before you attempt
	to do our Photoshop course.
