Yes this is a river/creek. The best part is is is close and you can get there from Hopkins going thru lagoons, with a short run acrossed a protected bay. So if it is to rough to go out to the reef this is a great short trip that was very interesting. The best part of this narrow creek is that the curves are up to 35 feet deep. If is the dry season the water is clear. Why we dove here was because fishing here was a pain to land fish because of the mangove mat. The roots of the Mangroves hang down about ten feet, you can dive under them. In some areas the curves in the river were very sharp and you could go under 50 yards. We saw Snook, Tarpon, some were very large!! 150 Lbs. Then we realized why we couldn't land fish in here. The grouper in this creek are monsters. we saw them from 20 Lbs to 300 Lbs. What a surprise. The hanging roots can be very scary at first, it looks like it should be in National Geographic. OH I forgot we did see Crocs. Only small ones but you just never know??
