A beautiful dive which starts in an inland salt water lake (inland sea) then progresses through a tunnel out to the open sea. The tunnel is quite large - big enough to take small boats through on the surface. Once out of the tunnel the rest of the dive is a wall dive. Often able to see hunting fish such as Tuna, Jacks, Barracuda, Dentex and shoals of smaller fish which they prey on. Other smaller typical fish are wrasses, red mullet, moray eels, cardinal fish, mediterranean rock fish, starfish and scorpion fish. The wall is colourful and full of life but you need a slow paced dive to fully appreciate and discover some of its smaller inhabitants - crustacea, nudibranchs, sea squirts, anemones etc. This dive is in the same area as the famous Blue Hole and it is usual to complete both dives on the same day. There are numerous dive variations to be had in this area with swim throughs, chimneys, caves, coral gardens, etc and so it is satisfying for everyone from Open Water to the far more experienced levels of diver. There isn't a dive centre on site but many dive centres on the island come here. Gozo is about 12km long and 6km wide so nowhere is very far away. The nearest decompression chamber is at the hospital in the islands main town of Victoria (Rabat).

The P31, a former AFM patrol boat, has been scuttled off the west coast of Comino in the area known as tal-Matz for diving. The 52-metre boat was scuttled at a depth of 18 metres. Part of its mast had to be sawn off so that there would be a five metre gap between the top of the boat and the surface of the sea.
