French Cap is one of the best dives in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It is a small uninhabited island that lies south of St. John Island. The visibility is always excellent and a great site to see reef sharks. There can be rough seas and strong currents, so it is only possible to dive there on very calm days.

Diving on the Nekton Rorqual they spent a dive or so on this pier as there are lots of seahorse and other interesting things to see. This is shot on Kodachrome 25 and is a very low resolution scan. Has to be the best 32 foot dive I have ever done, but the best way to do it is to walk to the end of the pier, jump in and swim back..... most of the really good stuff is almost all the way at the end of the pier. I saw 5 different seahorse and all sorts of other juvenile fish.......

Nothing like the name imply' s, Swirling Reef is a tranquil shallow dive a few hundred yards off shore. Large patches of coral are surrounded by sandy corridors that lead you through a garden full of life.
