Santa Barbara Janolus at Monterey Wharf 2. We have been seeing these up here the last bunch of years in the fall. They used to not be this far north.

Bay Pipefish in eel grass at Monterey Wharf 2. He was hiding in the eel grass and was difficult to get a clear shot of but I managed to capture this dramatic image.

Underwater Photo Location: The Slot

How Hot is this Dive Site? click a star to rate it

"The Slot" is a shore dive and is considered advanced. Can only dive this location if the swells are less than 2 ft. Requires grabbing a rope hand over hand through a narrow passage in the coral. Once past the entry, follow the rope for approximately three hundred yards and you will get to the wall. Drops from about 75 ft to 200 ft.
