B119 was a 23 meter military coast patrol boat, used by the turkish coastguard. It was build in 1960 in Hamburg/Germany for usage as river patrol boat but then went to Turkey where it was used as coast patrol ship by the turkish coastguard in the area of Mersin.

It "retired" after 50 years in duty in 2010 and was sinked on 25th June 2011, Time: 13.47 as a special event of the so called "Likya Festival" that happens every last week of June in the town of Kas/Turkey.

It now will be a new habitat for marine life and a new divespot for recreational diving.

The world's first underwater photo of this new wreck was token by the underwater photographer Rico Besserdich ( website ) exactly 1 minute after the ship touch the oceans ground.

"119" is resting in a depht between 10,8 to 21,6 meter. It's a easy to dive wreck, but penetrating the wreck is for certified wreck divers only. Exploring the wreck from outside is suitable to all diving levels/certifications. It is very close to the divespot named "Neptun Reef" in Kas/Antalya ( Turkey). the wreck lays on its keel. Deepest area is the stern ( 21.6 meter ), shallowest part is the bow with 10,8 meter. As the wreck lays very diagonal and not completly on the ground ( it lays on two huge rocks ), it is expected that the "119" will sly deeper during the next winter storms. If this is gonna happen, it might find it's final place in a depht between 35-50 Meter.

For any more informations needed as well as for underwater photos of this wreck, please feel free to contact Rico Besserdich via his site website .

Dives to this place are arranged by the DiveCenter "sundiving" , see website .

This is the turkish coastguard patrol boat "B119", just 1 minute after touchdown on its final resting place. It's the very first photo ever of this brand-new shipwreck. Still bubbles and smoke are escaping. Bad visibility, very rough circumstances.
