United States Gulf Of MexicoPart of the Pinellas County artificial reef system, Veterans Reef was dedicated to the memory of our military veterans. There are two commemorative plaques located near the center buoy. The reef is composed of a variety of objects and materials:
- Three 100-foot steel-hulled barges and one steel lash barge
- Lockheed Neptune P2V-3 bomber airplane
- 300 tons of native Florida limestone boulders
- Manmade concrete modules (tetrahedrons and polygonals)
- Concrete culverts and bridge material
