Shark Point, Coral Sea

   Australia  Coral Sea
This reef is located approx. 8 miles south from Osprey reef in the Coral Sea. 330 km northeast from Cairns, Queensland. It lies some 125 km east from the Great Barrier Reef and 220 km due east from Queensland's Cape Melville. It is the northernmost reef on the Coral Sea Shelf (Queensland Plateau).
Observation of ours will report schools of fusiliers, banner fish, moorish idols, and a plethera of macro photo opportunites. Clown fish, turtles, also sighted were large Silver Tips and smaller Black tip sharks. Plenty of table corals, and slopes with coral out croppings. Also sighted, stone fish and flashlight fish. Current can be a problem at this reef, as one of our dives was aborted because of the current.

Shark Point

   Solomon islands  Solomon Sea
Dive this site with Dive Munda. It is about 20 minutes boat ride from Agnes Lodge. A spectacular wall dive, plunging down to 70 meters. There is a good chance of seeing hammerhead sharks, silver and black tip sharks, and the occasional oceanic white tip. Along the wall there are huge gorgonian sea fans and lush soft corals and thick whip corals. This makes an amazing early-morning dive as visibility can exceed 40 meters and the chance to see those big fish increases greatly. Although typically this is a deep dive to see the larger species of shark, the novice diver can enjoy this site as well at a shallower depth. The wall extends so close to the surface that it is possible to snorkel the site.

Speigel Grove : Key Largo, Florida

United States  Atlantic (North American coastal)
Great dive site to view baracuda and goliath grouper, also lots of jacks, box fish, and gobies when I dove it. Must be an advanced diver to dive this site due to the depth and this being a large wreck. Must make more than one trip to cover this large ship. Countless variety of coral, sponges and other life on this wreck. Overall, great dive with lots of photo opportunities. You should have a flash if you want to take good pictures since the depth, clarity, and possibility of wanting to take a photo while swimming through part of the structure necessitates better lighting.

Shaab Rumi south point

   Sudan  Red Sea
Plateau at about 25-30m with very deep drop offs to the sides. Plateau is teeming with life. Lots of corals and sponges. This site gets large schools of Barracuda, large schools of Jacks and regular sightings of grey reef sharks. If you swim to the edges of the plateau and hang in the blue you may also be rewarded with sightings of hammerheads. Then as you swim back up the plateau towards the reef you will see a shark cage at about 18m abandoned from Cousteau's time here. The reef comes up to about 5m at it's shallowest and you can see a large school of bump head parrotfish, anenomes, sweet lips etc. A truly great dive site.
