Starting and exiting MovieShaker

Note

Exit all software currently running before starting MovieShaker. Otherwise, MovieShaker may not run correctly while you are creating movies.

To start MovieShaker

Start MovieShaker to create a movie.

  1. Click the "Start" button on the Windows Taskbar.

    The "Start" menu appears.

  2. Select "Program," and point to "MovieShaker," then click "MovieShaker."

    MovieShaker starts.

Hints

  • When you start MovieShaker on your computer for the first time, a message appears to prompt you to set up and check the settings to use MovieShaker. Click "OK," and set up in the "Setting" dialog box shown on the screen.

  • To start MovieShaker on your VAIO computer using movie files captured with Smart Capture (if installed) on the Clip tray, select "Programs" from the Windows "Start" menu, and point to "MovieShaker," then click "Use movies captured with Smart Capture."

  • If the screen area is set to less than 800 x 600 or 1024 x 480 pixels when you start MovieShaker, a message appears to prompt you to change the screen settings. In this case, change "Screen area" in the Windows "Display Properties" dialog box.

  • If initial virtual memory is less than 512 MB, and the maximum is less than 1024 MB when you start MovieShaker, a message appears to prompt you to change the virtual memory settings. In this case, change the computer's virtual memory in the Windows "System Properties" dialog box. For further information, see Settings for virtual memory.

To exit MovieShaker

  1. Select "Exit" from the "File" menu on the Menu bar.

    MovieShaker closes.

Hint

You can save the interim contents (status) of the Clip tray and Product tray as a project file before quitting MovieShaker. When you open the project file next time, you can continue creating your movie from where you left off editing last time. For further information, see To save the interim contents in a project file.
