Getting familiar with the Storyboard

A Storyboard tab, Timeline tab

These tabs switch between the Storyboard Display and the Timeline Display.

Clicking the Storyboard tab while the Timeline displays the Storyboard.

Clicking the Timeline tab while the Storyboard displays the Timeline.

B Storyboard

Place clips from the Clip tray on the Scene palettes and insert a transition between scenes to make a movie sequence.

C Scene palette

Use this palette to place a scene. Drag a clip from the Clip tray and drop it on a Scene palette. Each Scene palette can contain a movie or a still image.

Clicking a scene on a Scene palette displays the scene on the Edit tray for processing.

D Transition palette

Use this palette to place a transition. Drag a transition from the Transition tray and drop it on a Transition palette.

Note

You cannot place a transition on a Transition palette if its preceding or subsequent Scene palette contains no scene.

E Audio on check box

Click to select/deselect this check box to turn the soundtrack of a scene on/off. When you uncheck the check box, the sound is not output.

This setting is also available when you save a final movie product to a file, export it to a DV device/MICROMV device, or upload it to ImageStation by clicking the "Export" button.

Notes

You cannot use a MICROMV device with MovieShaker preinstalled on your computer. If you wish to use a MICROMV device, see To use a MICROMV device.
ImageStation service is only valid in some countries. For your computer was purchased outside a valid area, you cannot upload your final movie products to ImageStation.

F Total Movie Time

The total time of the movie is displayed.

G Export button

Click this button to save a final movie product in various file formats, export it to a DV device/MICROMV device, or upload it to ImageStation.

Notes

You cannot use a MICROMV device with MovieShaker preinstalled on your computer. If you wish to use a MICROMV device, see To use a MICROMV device.
ImageStation service is only valid in some countries. For your computer was purchased outside a valid area, you cannot upload your final movie products to ImageStation.
