Getting familiar with the Timeline

These tabs switch between the Storyboard Display and the Timeline Display.
Clicking the Timeline tab while the Storyboard displays the Timeline.

B Timeline knob
The Timeline knob indicates the position within a scene, BGM, or
narration being played. It moves from left to right as playing progresses.
C Timeline
Select clips from the Clip
tray and place them onto the Scene track or the BGM track, and insert
a transition
between scenes to create a movie. The Scene track can contain a movie
or a still image. The BGM track can contain a sound file or a movie
file having sound. You can also lay narration
created in the Narration tray on the Narration track.
D Scale setting list
Select the zooming size of the Timeline in relation to the length of
the movie. If you select "100%," you can view the entire
Timeline (without scrolling).
Hint
The larger the number you select, the larger the Timeline is
magnified. This makes it easy to perform detailed editing.
E Scene track
The Scene track is provided for placing a scene. Drag
a clip from the Clip tray and drop it on a Scene track. When a scene
is placed on the Scene track, it is displayed as a bar.
You can change the length of a scene by dragging one or both ends of
the Scene bar.
If you place more than one scene, you can also place a transition
between the scenes. Drag a transition from the Transition tray and
drop it between scenes. When a transition is placed between scenes,
it is displayed as a mini bar.
You can adjust the duration of a transition by dragging one end of
the Transition bar.
F BGM track
The BGM track is provided for placing a sound clip. Drag a sound clip
from the Clip tray and drop it on the BGM track. When a sound clip is
placed on the BGM track, it is displayed as a bar to indicate how
long a piece of BGM is
played along with each scene.
You can trim (adjust the duration of) a piece of BGM by dragging one
or both ends of the BGM bar.
Hint
If you place a movie clip on the BGM track, only the sound contained
in that movie clip is reproduced.
Note
When the length of a piece of BGM is extremely short compared to the
length of a scene, the BGM bar may not be shown.
G Narration track
The Narration track is provided for placing a narration. A narration
is displayed as a bar to indicate how long it is played along with
each scene.
You can trim (adjust the duration of) narration by dragging one or
both ends of the Narration bar.
H Scene audio ON check box
Click to select/deselect this check box to turn the audio recorded
for each scene on/off. When you uncheck the check box, the audio for
this track is not output.
I BGM audio ON check box
Click to select/deselect this check box to turn the audio on the BGM
track on/off. When you uncheck the check box, the audio for this
track is not output.
J Narration audio ON check box
Click to select/deselect this check box to turn the audio on the
Narration track on/off. When you uncheck the check box, the audio for
this track is not output.
K Total Movie Time
The total time of the movie is displayed.
L Export button
Click this button to save a final movie product in various file
formats, export it to a DV
device/MICROMV device,
or upload it to ImageStation.
Notes
-
You cannot use a MICROMV device with MovieShaker preinstalled on your
computer. If you wish to use a MICROMV device, see To
use a MICROMV device.

ImageStation service is only valid in some countries. For your
computer was purchased outside a valid area, you cannot upload your
final movie products to ImageStation.
