To place a clip (on the Timeline)

Select clips from the Clip tray and place them onto the Scene track of the Timeline.

  1. Drag a thumbnail image from the Clip tray.

  2. Drop it on a Scene track of the Timeline.

The clip is placed on the Scene track.

Hints

  • As you drag a scene over the Scene track, a vertical marker appears to indicate placement. Use this indication to guide placement.

  • You can also simultaneously place more than one clip on the Scene track. The scenes appear in the order in which the clips are placed on the Clip tray.

  • To select more than one clip at the same time, click on the desired clips while pressing the Ctrl key. To select a sequential block of clips, click on the first clip, and then click on the last clip while pressing the Shift key. All clips between (and including) the first and last clips are placed on the Scene track in the order they appeared on the Clip tray.

  • If you double-click on the thumbnail image of a movie or still image file on the Clip tray, it is added to the last Scene bar on the Scene track.

To place a sound clip on the BGM track

Select a sound file from the Clip tray and place it onto the BGM track of the Timeline.

Sound files can only be placed on the BGM track of the Timeline.

  1. Drag a thumbnail image of the sound file from the Clip tray.

  2. Drop it on the BGM track of the Timeline.

The sound file is placed on the BGM track.

Hints

  • If you drag a sound file from the Clip tray and drop it on the Product tray while the Storyboard is displayed, the Product tray automatically displays the Timeline.

  • If you place a movie clip on the BGM track, only the sound contained in that movie clip is reproduced.

  • The Timeline automatically adjusts display proportion to display the longest track entirely. The other tracks are displayed in relative proportion to this track.

  • As you drag a piece of BGM over the BGM track, a vertical marker appears to indicate placement. Use this indication to guide placement.

  • You can also simultaneously place more than one clip on the BGM track. The BGM appear in the order in which the clips are placed on the Clip tray.

To select more than one clip at the same time, click on the desired clips while pressing the Ctrl key. To select a sequential block of clips, click on the first clip, and then click on the last clip while pressing the Shift key. All clips between (and including) the first and last clips are placed in the order they appeared on the Clip tray.

  • If you double-click on the thumbnail image of a sound file on the Clip tray, it is added to the last BGM bar on the BGM track.

Note

When the length of a piece of BGM is extremely short compared to the length of a scene, the BGM bar may not be shown.

To rearrange the order of scenes or BGM

You can rearrange the order of scenes or BGM on the Timeline by dragging and dropping them.

To remove a scene or BGM

To remove a scene or BGM from the Timeline, drag and drop it in the Trash in the MovieShaker window. You can also remove a scene or BGM by clicking it and pressing the Delete key.

You can also remove more than one scene at the same time. To select a sequential block of scenes, click on the first scene, and then click on the last scene while pressing the Shift key.

Notes

  • You cannot select both a scene and a piece of BGM at the same time. More than one scene can be selected only on the Scene track.

  • If you select one scene to rearrange the order or remove it, its preceding and subsequent transitions are automatically removed.

  • If you select multiple scenes simultaneously to remove them, the preceding transition of the first scene, the subsequent transition of the last scene, and all transitions between the selected scenes, are removed.

  • You cannot select more than one piece of BGM at the same time. You must select, rearrange, and remove each one individually.
