To select a scene for processing

To process a scene, select a scene from the Product tray to display it on the Edit tray. The changes you make to the scene are immediately reflected on the scene on the Product tray.

Hint

By selecting "Open Project" from the "File" menu on the Menu bar, you can open the interim contents (status) of the Clip tray and the Product tray to continue creating your movie from where you left off editing last time.

To open and continue editing the interim contents of the Clip tray and Product tray next time, you must save them as a project file before quitting MovieShaker. For further information, see To save the interim contents in a project file.

Note

During processing, sequential scenes and their transitions can be previewed for the purpose of observing the flow from scene to scene. However, they cannot be processed.

  1. Click (the Edit tab).

The Edit tab is highlighted, and the Monitor panel switches to the Edit tray.

  2. Click a scene displayed on the Product tray (Storyboard or Timeline).

The first frame of the selected scene is displayed on the Edit tray.

If the scene is a movie file:

The Time slider knob is displayed at the left end, and the Trimming knobs are displayed at both ends of the slider bar.

If the scene is a still image file:

A still image is copied as a scene without sound (up to 15 seconds long).

Move the Trimming knobs to adjust the length.

    Hint

If you double-click a scene displayed on the Product tray (Storyboard or Timeline), it is displayed on the Edit tray.

  3. Click the Play button.

The scene displayed on the Edit tray is played.

To select a transition for processing

You can select only one transition for processing at a time. The changes you make to the transition are immediately reflected on the transition on the Product tray.

  1. Click (the Edit tab).

The Edit tab is highlighted, and the Monitor panel switches to the Edit tray.

  2. Click a transition displayed on the Product tray (Storyboard or Timeline).

The starting point of the selected transition is displayed on the Edit tray.

The Transition time setting knobs are displayed instead of the Trimming knobs, at the same position on the Edit tray.

    Hint

If you double-click a transition displayed on the Product tray (Storyboard or Timeline), it is displayed on the Edit tray.

  3. Click the Play button.

The transition displayed on the Edit tray is played.

To select BGM or a narration for processing

You can select only one piece of BGM or narration for processing at a time on the Timeline. You cannot select a piece of BGM or narration on the Storyboard of the Product tray. The changes you make to the BGM or narration are immediately reflected on those on the Product tray.

  1. Click (the Edit tab).

The Edit tab is highlighted, and the Monitor panel switches to the Edit tray.

  2. Click a BGM bar or Narration bar displayed on the Timeline.

The default image of the selected BGM or narration is displayed on the Edit tray.

    BGM is selected:

The Time slider knob is displayed at the left end, and the Trimming knobs are displayed at both ends.

The default image shown on the monitor is used for any sound clip, because no image is attached to it. This image is not applied to a final movie product.

    Narration is selected:

The Time slider knob is displayed at the left end, and the Trimming knobs are displayed at both ends.

The default image shown on the monitor is used for any narration, because no image is attached to it. This image is not applied to a final movie product.

    Hint

If you double-click a BGM bar or Narration bar displayed on the Timeline, it is displayed on the Edit tray.

  3. Click the Play button.

The BGM or narration displayed on the Edit tray is played.
