Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are NOT MOVING usually on the bottom (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)

The Mediterranean hermit crab Calcinus tubularisis is special, the female, occupies attached tubes, the male, occupies loose shells.

Tough to get a shot of these guys feeding but when they do I think it looks spectacular. Like little fishermen casting their nets. Shot with two strobes, next time I'm going to try side lighting to give some more depth.
