Male Bluegill tending nest in spring.

Freshwater 'Bait Ball' or 'Bass run'. I've never witnessed such a large school of recently hatched bass. This 'cloud' swam over my head, so image is looking toward the surface. Encountered several groups all being 'protected' by an adult.
Root Study 1. I find these to be an interesting 'still life' underwater subject in freshwater.
