This pod of sperm whale were asleep, out of the blue around 50 pilot whales suddenly appeared and began making noise and generally harassing them. (taken under permit)

Spotted cleaner shrimp spotted in the Caribbean Netherland (Curacao). Natural symbiotic relationship between the shrimp and the anemone.

Spotted cleaner shrimp on an anemone. These 2 creatures have a symbiotic relationship, where the shrimp provides parasite removal services and the anemone protects the shrimp from predators.

A small blenny, sticking out of a coral. This tiny creature might be small, but it has a big personality, observing my camera and showcasing it's alien-like face.

I was asked to disqualify this shot due to the rule about touching marine life. Interaction is acceptable provided the critter is not air breathing. In this case I'm sure the shark could just bite this idiots head off if he felt like it!

I love snorkelling close to the reef where, without dive gear, it's possible to be really manoeuverable to get great natural light shots that show the array of colours. Picture is a Clown Surgeonfish (Acanthurus lineatus).
