When spotting a whip coral check the surface of the coral if there is a variation in texture. It will probably be a whip coral shrimp as they are perfectly camouflaged with the coral’s colour and polyp structure.Jan_2024

During a dive in may at Zuid Langeweg we where very surprised that there where so many Sea mouses (Aeolidia papillosa).
A pink tube sponge. Any help on the rest!

Pike picture made some weeks ago. The same pike as the green picture, now I used my strobes.
donderpad, fam of the scorpionfish , juvenile
I make these Pike picture without strobes, at ISO400 to get the mystic green in the picture.
Small Pike between the vegetation.
This picture was taken in the early morning during a sailing trip, but there was no wind. This beautiful porpoise came along and followed the boat for at least half an hour.
The picture of Gobius niger was taken in may during the start of the breeding season. After laying the eggs, the female disapears. The male stays with the aggs till they hatch.
My first Flabellina lineata in the Netherlands. They are not often seen here, with thanks to Pater van Bragt for showing me this one.
My first Facelina auriculata of 2010, spotted yesterday at Goes, at a dept of 15 meters.
Another result of my snorkling trip in the small canal close to my home. You need to see it bigger I assume....
I made some pipes on my underwaterhousing to make half/half pictures. Ofcourse I have to test it close to my home with these water lily.
Aeolidiella Glauca
When the watertemperature in the Oosterschelde reaches 12 degrees the Cuttlefish is coming. For a lot of divers the reason to dive there now.
Picture taken down under, in a small canal close to my home. As long as I didn´t move visibility was OK ;-)
model try out !
A very large Wels Catfish about 2m in length.
The shot was taken during a nightdive in januari. The water still very cold and not much life for a picture. My buddy started to feel cold and swim faster and faster. This left me with pictures of his fins.

UFO !!!!!!
These jellyfish looks like an Ufo in space. The backscatter are the stars, I didn’t remove it because I like the effect.
My budy Frans taking pictures of Cyclopterus lumpus. I was iritated that he tooks pictures at the same moment I try to photograph him.... Then I realized he is using slave flashes....
Cyclopterus lumpus can be found in the beginning of each year in our Oosterschelde. The coloured males stay in the neighbourhood of the eggs for about 6 weeks. After that they disappear to deeper waters. Notice the green colour of our Northsee.
The first time I ever saw Syngnathus acus mating, last weekend in our Oosterschelde. Unfortunately I had my macro lens on the camera :-(

Ofcourse we have flowers above and below the water in the Netherlands.
These Cyclopterus lumpus was trapped. Hard to leave him there...
Our cold waters are green ofcourse. These Wakame can be impressive when there is some sunshine.
The Hemigrapsus penicillatus last weekend in water of 4 degrees C. Nice camouflage.
