Those cleaner fish have a really scary job!
Selfie with a klipfish in the cool Cape Town waters where the small fish have the biggest attitude
Wide angle shot of the typical temperate water reef in Cape Town. Urchins munching their way over the rocks and towering kelp fronds.
We found a trio of elusive pineapple fish hiding in a small tunnel system under the rocks. I love the way their shadows fall on the sand.
I swam into the current to get a shot of the potato bass from the front and my buddy popped up from below the reef at just the right moment. "Carel and Sarel"
Portrait shot of a four colour nudibranch, Canon 70d with 60mm macro
Shark cleaning station at Asho's Gap, Ningaloo Reef.
Visibility was not great and a did switch of the strobe
We dived under the jetty at Alimata where we were treated to a circus of nurse sharks and rays feeding off the left overs from the resorts.
I found the trumpet fish posing under an overhang. I have yet to find one that isn't posing!
Playful Cape Fur Seal
he engine block of the Clan Stuart is above the water line at most times (except spring high tide), which provides a perfect resting point for a few species of seabird. We snuck up on them to take some shots but they were more curious than timid.
Maldives has always been on my bucket list of diving destinations and I was fortunate enough to be able to go there last year. On a night dive, this couple of anemonefish was settling down for the night.
Macro shot of a fan worm, a unique kind of worm that lives within a tube and extends their feathery tentacles to filter feed. They are quite skittish and withdraw their tentacles when they sense your presence.
"Silver & Gold"
Beauty & Youth surround the reefs this time of the year in Sodwana. A spectacle that should not be missed.
