Excellent divesite. The lake was created after a landslide blocked off the river Lygna in may 1908. In the lake you'll find farm houses, stone fences, a road, bridge and two gates. Also, there is a wierd and wonderful old forest - the troll forest.

Saltstraumen is a sound with a strong tidal current located in Nordland some 30 km east of the city of Bodø, Norway. It is the strongest tidal current in the world. Up to 400 million m³ of seawater forces its way through a 3 km long and 150 m wide strait every six hours, with water speeds reaching 20 knots (about 37 km/h). Vortices up to 10 m in diameter and 5 m in depth are formed when the current is at its strongest; this feature is commonly known as a whirlpool.

Lurefjorden north of Bergen is home to the fantastic deep-sea jelly Periphylla periphylla, also known as crown jelly. There animals normally live on a depth of 7-800 to 7-8000 meters, but in Lurefjorden they can be found thriving in "just" 400 meters of water.
To see these amazing creatures it is necessary to dive at night in the winter (february is the best time). The dive is done in the middle ov the fjord, over deep water, as the jellies migrate vertically. The best time is a moonless night between midnight and 02:00. If you're lucky, you'll see thousands!
Every february we do a special "jelly safari" weekend with Gulen Dive Resort (www.gulendiveresort.com), the only resort in the world to offer this unique experience. Diving is for advanced/experienced divers only, as it is done in open, pitch black water several hundret feet above the bottom. It is very easy to loose track of your depth as there are no points of reference.

TURUT is not a large commercial scuba related company, but a happy couple with a keen interest in scuba diving who can take you on a very personal vacation with a group of socially aware people!
We arrange week long scuba trips to the island Hitra several times a year. We stay in comfortable appartements at Knutshaug Fishing Resort on Dolmøy, and we run boat dives 3 times a day. One day we go onboard a larger boat for a 10 hour journey through the skerries of Mausund and Sula. Hitra offers tremendous cold water UW-fauna, excillarating drift dives through narrow sounds, wrecks, and UW-hunting usually leading to food on the table.

The photo gallery is of course just for fun, and has been highly compressed

This
