World Champion 2007 - Fiona Ayerst

We are very pleased to announce that our top prize goes to a woman for the first time! The ladies have proved themselves every bit as good as us gents in all fields (OK apart from driving - where they're better!) It was inevitable that underwater photography should succumb to their charms. In this instance we saw a very strong entry from Fiona across all contest categories throughout the year.
Fiona is an attorney - but we won't hold that against her! She completed high School in KwaZulu Natal and went to the University of Pietermaritzburg where completed a B.A LL.B degree. After finishing her articles with the Durban based firm, Shepstone & Wylie relocated to Johannesburg to chase her fortune! In 1997 Fiona started Fiona Ayerst attorney's which has gone from strength to strength in the past seven years currently employing 32 people in four offices. Fiona is currently involved in the administration and marketing of the firm and the support and training of staff to look after her clients. Outside of the firm Fiona is interested in animals, scuba diving and rock climbing and reading. See website Fiona is a confederate of our 2004 champ Andrew Woodburn, also South African. Fiona says "I have recently made the cross over and currently use a Nikon D200 in a sea and sea housing and sometimes hold onto my Nikonos V and F100 for old times sake. I have been a U/W photgrapher for 6 years. I will dive and take photos ANYWHERE and in anything. there is always something to take a great photo of"
