   Mexico  Pacific
Mexico  PacificThis is a submarine mountain that go up from a 400m depth in the sea of Cortez about 10 miles from the shore and 2 hours navigation from Cabo San Lucas. The top is 35-40 metres depth. We go down always holding the ancor line to the top of the mountain due to the strong current. We dive always near the bottom and we do decompression stop. It's a drift dive and the boat captain follow our bubble,in the safety stop we use always the safety boa.Due to the strong current and plancton there is a lot of fish like tuna, trevally, wahoo, dorado, grouper, murray, marlin, sailfish, hammerheads, silky sharks, mako, grey sharks, tiger shark, bull sharks, whale sharks, mantas, dolphins and before november to april humpback whales. This site is very famous in Baja California due to the big schooling of hammerheads always present in this area.Due to the current the visybilti could be very bad.The temperature shift from 15-18deggrees in winter and 24-28 in summer months. The best period to dive there is october and november when ther are a lots of hammerheads and good visibility about 20 metres
It's for experienced diver and Photographer. You can get there in a day trip from Cabo san lucas or in a dive cruise of Baja California Sur.There i used nitrox at 28% for two dives. It's recommanded semy dry suite or dry suit in winter wet suit in summer. To make photos i recommend the wide angle and two strobes
