Had to cram my head and camera into a crevice without getting stuck on a bunch of urchins behind my head to get this orangutan crab on some bubble coral, but I got the shot.

From a trip to Tubbataha last summer, the first time I ever shot wide angle. It was a steep learning curve but by the end of the trip I got a few photos that I'm very happy with including this one.

We went out for an early morning on Monterey Bay looking for whales. Found cooperative Humpbacks, great low angle light, and miraculously, almost no fog. I was extremely lucky to catch this huge tail lob, (this isn't a breaching.)

For those of you who have tried to shoot clownfish, you'll appreciate how many shots and trips it's taken me to finally get the shot I always wanted.

Spanish Shawl- I try to find nudis in unusual positions because so often the only choice is to shoot them flat. From a Northern Channel Islands New Year's trip. Nikon D200 in a Sea & Sea housing, YS-90 strobe, w/ UK Light Cannon as focus light.

Rhinopias frondosa or weedy scorpionfish
Rhinopias frondosa or weedy scorpianfish
For those of you who have tried to shoot clownfish, you'll appreciate how many shots and trips it's taken me to finally get the shot I always wanted.
We got up early and were lucky enough to catch schooling bumphead parrotfish at the USS Liberty wreck, here making a turn around one of the deck guns.
These boxing crabs move around so fast, it took quite a few tries over a number of days to get this shot.
There is something about the eyes of peacock mantis shrimp that I just find facinating
This is a mototi blue ring octopus from a muck dive in Tulamben.
I'd never found a mantis shrimp this color before, and it was extremely cooperative as well.
This was my first time seeing this particular species of octopus, no snoot, though it almost looks snooted, just a single strobe trying to shoot with minimum strobe power to avoid stressing the octopus.
Would love to get help with an ID on this nudi. Looks similar to some of the dironidae that we have on the US west coast, but this was shot in Tulamben, Bali.

I love Harlequin Shrimp! They are just so beautiful. From a muck dive in Tulamben, Bali.
We went out for an early morning on Monterey Bay looking for whales. Found cooperative Humpbacks, great low angle light, and miraculously, almost no fog. I was extremely lucky to catch this huge tail lob, (this isn't a breaching.)
Dendronotus Albus, a tiny little guy, maybe half an inch long.
Dark water, poor vis, but beautiful metridium and tons of rock fish fry
One of my images from the Monterey Shoot-Out. Only my second dive with my new Tokina 10-17 Fisheye and a dome port.
One of my photos from the Monterey Shoot-Out. I had to photoshop a bit of the snail antenna that was up across the left corner of his mouth, so it was in the unlimited catagory.
"In the Queue" It took three trips to this whip coral at 85ft to finally get a shot I was really happy with.
Peek a Boo! These guys have some of the best camouflage around, very tough to get contrast.
A Mototi octopus getting ready to jet away!
Wonderpus
This is a Mototi octopus, they display a single blue ring only when agitated or hunting.
Peacock mantis shrimp with eggs
"Gone Fishing"
It took quite a few tries, but I finally got a shot with both nets up.
Saw two Blue rings on this dive! Just amazing!

Wonderful Wonderpus from an amazing dive in Dauin.
Tail and blow at once, a good day.
