"Look into my Eyes"
A close up of a Lobster in the swim through at Creole Cliff.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Dive"
A Hawksbill Turtle dives down from the surface with the sun at his back.
"High Five"
A Hawksbill Turtle throwing up his fin in the shallows on the North Wall.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Smile"
These guys have huge personalities. I spent a good 30 minutes with this one and it felt like we were playing a game. Really entertaining to photograph.
"Rave"
A very colorful Triple Fin Blenny portrait. These small fish have excellent color, but what I really liked about the subject was the color background of algae this guy chose to post up on.
"Open Wide"
A Red Lip Blenny standing his ground on the South Side of Grand Cayman.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Vibrance"
Possibly the most vibrant critter I have seen in Cayman.
"Stack School"
Grunts stacking up at La Mesa.
"Playground"
A Green Sea Turtle swims around in the shallows just off of Spotts Beach.
"Floating"
Jelly in the Mangroves.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Hairy Face"
A portrait of a Neck Crab sitting on a purple rope sponge.
"Two Worlds"
I saw this upside down Jelly pulsating close to the surface while on a paddle in the mangroves. I love how close to the surface he was for this shot.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Crazy Eyes"
Close up of a Blenny. Achieved with Subsea +10 and +5 stacked on a 100mm macro lens.
"Orange Crush"
I loved the colors that this Triple Fin had chose to sit around,
"Goldy"
This golden fish was so small. It is sitting on a Purple Rope Sponge on the edge of the wall.
"Fin Up"
A large Triple Fin Blenny sitting on a sponge with nice texture.
"Out in the Open"
Not often do I see Secretary Blenny's away from their hole. This is the second time I have seen a Blenny in this exact spot with no hole in sight. I'm thinking it must be the same guy.
"Clean Green"
A Green Moray gets a little cleaning session from a Cleaning Gobe.
"Stare Down"
A Roughhead Blenny shot with a +10 Diopter.
"The Portal"
Jelly suspended in the crystal clear waters of the mangrove.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Next in Line"
This Filefish must have been enjoying his morning cleaning, as these guys are usually to timid to let divers approach.
"Bearded Face"
A Bearded Fire Worm posing for the camera.
"In My Face"
Close up of a Blenny.
"Spinnin"
A large head of Brain Coral photographed with a slow shutter speed and twist.
"Orange Escape"
An Orange Elephant Ear Sponge down the wall on the North Side of Grand Cayman.
"Munchin"
A Hawksbill Turtle digs into some sponge.
"The Chase"
Encounters like this is why we dive the North Wall.
"Dancing Fairies"
Two Fairy Basslets on a black background.
"Hazy"
A Roughhead Blenny with a soft background. I really like how the wide aperture isolates these Blennys.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Fuzzy"
I wanted to emphasize the bright color eyes of this Roughhead Blenny so I used a wide open f/stop to achieve a narrow focus on his eyes.
