A two claw shrimp peers out from a purple vase sponge. This kind of shrimp is a rare find in Cayman! I used a shallow depth of field to focus just on the shrimp's eyes.
Parrotfish sleeping.
Divers with whale shark
Divers wait in the light at the surface.
Hiding in the polyps
Light in front of this diver as he comes out of the shadow of the over-hang created a silhouette shot.
shortlistedShortlisted!
Setting up for a whale shark shot...shoot and get out of the way.
Pelagic Tunicate/I happened upon this strange, nearly translucent creature, called a Salp, during a safety stop while diving in the Caribbean. Luckily I was shooting macro with my Nikonos V, and always saved one frame, "just in case".
Small shrimp rests on a corallimorph.

Trash the Dress at the famous Stingray Sandbar
Cayman's beautiful North Wall, rich with life! An anenome, lots of little blue chromis, a snapper, sponges, colorful coral... I used my wide-angle dome port extension with my fisheye lens for a forced vingette.
A snorkeler seems caught between a whale shark and his reflection. Taken in Isla Mujeres,Mexico, using a D7200 and 10.2 fisheye lens.
"Follow the Leader" large school of Horse Eyed Jacks on a safety stop
Resting in the sand.
A tiny spotted cleaner shrimp climbs on a warty corallimorph anemone. I lit the shrimp with one strobe, and lit the background with my second strobe to provide backlighting.
"The Pit" Cenote in Mexico, Divers enter the Halocline below while their bubbles give a sense of the depth. Divers at the top take in the view before they exit.
Ribbon Blenny (Emblemaria vitta)
Lunch date with a turtle
Pike Blenny
"Black and White Slender Filefish"
Jawfish with his next generation
Moon jelly and its fish
Unknown...
"Starry Stingray Splash"!
No Photoshop
Over-under at Stingray Sandbar, Grand Cayman
Soaring Manta
Taken at the Kittiwake, Grand Cayman
Leech headshield slug shot with a +15 diopter 105mmVR lens on a d300 in inkelite housing and strobes (DS160) ON a shutter of 200 and f22 iso 400 at the kittiwake grand cayman
Fluorescing Goby - "Tie-Dye"
No color editing was done to this photo. The rainbow of colors is from shooting with my Nightsea fluorescence kit. The filters "excite" the fluorescence in the goby and coral.
