Tony Cherbas

I started diving in 2008 and have been taking photographs underwater since 2010. I mainly shoot with a Canon 7d mk 2 in a Nauticam housing with two Inon Z240 strobes. My style has evolved over the years and my favorite kind of image to create lately has been CFWA with the Canon 8-15mm lens. I have traveled all over SE ASIA and continue to return. I currently live in Kauai, Hawaii.

I've been shooting since 1976, and currently use a Canon SL-1, Eos 50D, and a Canon 5D Mark2 camera, with Ikelite housings and strobes. Wakatobi is my favorite place to dive, but I enjoy shooting in my Natural swimming pool in Ohio too. I am a contributing writer/photographer to Blue Magazine, a Guest Experience Manager for Wakatobi Dive Resort, and an Ambassador for Ikelite Underwater Systems.

2016 Grand Master - Tanya Houppermans

Tanya is the most recent rising star on UnderwaterPhotography.com. She did what we all want to do - left the corporate world and dove all-in, to become a professional underwater photographer. Since joining the contest in 2014, she has already submitted 157 amazing entries in all categories, but her Shark and Wreck shots are the ones which truly stand out and define her style. Tanya has an excellent eye for composition and a talent for capturing the true nature of her subjects with superb sharpness and detail. We can't wait to see more of her work!

Tanya Houppermans

I left the corporate world a couple years ago to concentrate full time on underwater photography and conservation. That was one of the best decision I ever made. My favorite subject is sharks, but I really enjoy photographing most anything underwater from tiny shrimp to massive shipwrecks. I hope to capture images that inspire people to care about the ocean and the creatures that live in it. I shoot with an Olympus OM-D E-M1, Nauticam housing, and Sea&Sea YS-D2 strobes.
