Close up of a peacock mantis shrimp looking straight toward the camera. Mantis shrimps are usually very shy but this one eagerly inspected me and my camera. I had to cautiously keep my distance fearing its famous punch from damaging my gear.

When spotting a whip coral check the surface of the coral if there is a variation in texture. It will probably be a whip coral shrimp as they are perfectly camouflaged with the coral s colour and polyp structure.Jan_2024 Canon60 1/200 f16 i.100

The dive staff aboard the Sea Queen IV, outstanding, they had knowldege of most dive sites to advise type of lens to take on each dive. The advise to turn off strobes in the shallow water proved to make thise exciting Manta dive (12 plus mantas) and unbelievable experience. Many thilas with beautiful walls and strong currents
